The internet made everyone a salesman

I think the internet made everyone a salesman.

Not because everyone is selling a product.

People sell themselves now.

Every post has to do something. Get views. Get followers. Get clicks. Push people somewhere. Build a brand. Grow an audience. Convert.

Even normal people talk like marketers now.

There is always some angle.

I catch myself doing it too. I will think of something I want to post and almost immediately start thinking about the hook, the title, if it will perform, if people will care.

And sometimes that is useful.

But I think it also ruins things.

Some things should just exist because you wanted to make them.

Some things should be funny and go nowhere.

Some things should be interesting to 14 people.

Some things should not need a call to action.

I think we have gotten so used to everything being optimized that normal expression can almost feel pointless if it does not lead somewhere.

That is weird.

I do not think everything needs to be a funnel.

Sometimes I just want to put something on the internet because I made it.
